Measuring of the marathon route On 18 April 2007 the finishing post of the race was conclusively settled in agreement with the vicar of the parish Međugorje and also a newly elected Provincial of the Herzegovinian Franciscan Province of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Father Ivan Sesar and it was determined that the race will finish at the premises in front of the church beside the statue of Our Lady – the Queen of Peace in Međugorje. Thus the motto that the organizers have given to the marathon will be fully realized since the runners will “Run for Our Lady” in the literal as well as the figurative sense. On 28 April 2007 the expert team for course measuring came to examine the marathon route Međugorje – Ljubuški – Grude. The team consisted of the following members: Nikola Kordić – Athletic referee and certified international measurer of the marathon course, Josip Baričić – Chairman of the Federation of Croatian Athletic Referees, Milan Orešković – Secretary general of HAS (Croatian Athletic Federation) and Boris Stepinac – President of the athletic team Dinamo- Zrinjevac.
